A Titan Dies! in May

Newsarama has posted a sneak peek of May's comics, including Adam Beechen's first full issue as writer. Another dead Titan? WHO could it be? I dunno, but that Randy Green cover is gorgeous.... and Chris Batista on interior art is a good call. I'd be happy with either of those guys on the book on a regular basis.

I'm really not interested in seeing more and more deaths. It's practically become something like idol worship by now to kill off characters.

I can see how DC all but gets away with this disgraceful charade of theirs - they keep the death itself secret till the end. Either way, is there any chance that comics fans will voice their opposition to this current death and protest what DC's going at now? They should be protesting, because it's becoming offensive that they keep on going with these pointless, uncalled for deaths of characters.

Lets take a guess at who was killed. Judging by the picture, it must have been someone important, and comic books want to be as unpredictable as possible. Could it have been
    Starfire?
Or maybe it was one of the one year gap titans.

Or maybe, given the fact that Nightwing and Donna are there, they're probably just honoring Wally West, since they don't know where he is...

It might be a clue, or just nothing, but Donna is holding a Rose....

I dont think its one of the new titans. It said that Nightwing and Donna might be next. It must be a teen titans they associated with.

One more thing isnt Donna supposed to be wonder woman now, so what is she doing in her old costume?

The answer to that is that at the end of the current WW arc, Diana becomes Wonder Woman again.

Also, in World War III, at the end of 52, Donna dons her Wonder Girl outfit "to show where her loyalties lie".

For me, I think the Titan who is dead is Mirage or Bombshell.

bombshell is aready dead. batgirl killed her in the start of titans east arc

Beast boy has ties to all of the characters on the cover. plus he hasn't been used that much lately

And if the Titan who dies is RISK.

My money's on Flamebird. They wouldn't have brought up Donna and Dick (especially Dick, considering he is more linked to the Outsiders, currently) if it wasn't something tied to the old Titans of their day (pre-New Teen Titans). Sad to say, when looking at the Titans from that era, Flamebird makes the most obvious choice.

Roy (Red Arrow) is now with the Justice League.

Wally is living in the Speed Force (good speedsters don't die, they just get faster) and anything with him would be more appropriate in the new Flash title.

Tempest is apparently going to be in new Aquaman storylines.

The original Hawk and Dove, as well as Lilith and Gnaark (though Crisis changed his standing with the team), are already dead... granted, that doesn't mean much in the DCU these days, but they would need to be ressurrected first.

Mal (Vox), Bumblebee, and Beast Boy are more closely tied with the Doom Patrol these days. That team would at least rate the cover as well if it is was one of them.

Duela gotten written out of being one of the old Titans thanks to Crisis. Plus given the current Titans East storyline, I don't think they would care as much.

Golden Eagle is on Thanager, is more likely to be killed in an event unrelated to the Titans, and would make more sense to be in Hawkgirl or (at the very least) one of the JSA titles at any rate.

That pretty much leaves Bette, who really hasn't been used in a while outside of her brief appearance in Infinite Crisis (where she went into shock over the carnage created by Superboy-Prime and then was revealed to be Earth-Two's Batgirl), one of the kidnapped heroes in a Birds of Prey arc, and still being extremely hung up over Dick when Mary was scanning thoughts to find the traitor. So she looks to be a target to me. Be a real shame, too, given what they recently have done with her aunt. But maybe one Kane superhero is all that is allowed today.

I give an outside chance of Red Star being it, but he seems to have more potential given Russia's attitude towards foreign superheroes these days. Argent and Terra also remain somewhat possibilities as well (Dick and Donna being leaders of the team when Argent was a member and the second Terra, who stayed with Donna during the Team Titan book, having fallen off the map). Mirage might be one as well. But I do think mentioning Dick and Donna means it is an early Titan and as I said, Flamebird is definitely the most likely suspect.

I'm guessing the death is fake.it doesn't make sense to kill off one of the titans past or present now.they can't kill off a big name and if they kill off one of the b-list titans who cares.

Maybe this is a fall cemetery of a dead Titan.

I hate to say it, but didnt troia have a thing with Red Arrow? (god that sux i wish theyd still call him Arsenal)
I hate to say it, but i think its quite likely Roy is going to pop his clogs. That said, theres no mention of Speedy and shed be there if it was. The other really likely candidate is, unfortunately, Beast Boy. Think about it, he's been on the team with al of the Titans on the cover.

if it was roy, red arrow wouldn't be in the JLA later this year. beast boy is probley the only other titan whose death would mean something.

Me, I think the dead Titan aren't Beast Boy (he's with Doom Patrol) and Red Arrow (him, he's with JLA) but the dead Titan is Tempest (or Aqualad, if you want).

Can't be Tempest. From the solicits, he's going to be appearing in Aquaman. After being gone for over a year, they wouldn't bring him back in one title just to kill him another.

if not rose(and i hope it isn't)the other titan to die might be argent. she hasn't been used for some time.

If the Titan who die is Flash III, as Wally West.
