SDCC 2007: Futurama Returns!

The Futurama panel was awesome. Matt Groening was there along with four of the voice talents from the show: Katey (looking fantastic) Segal (Leela), Billy West (Fry, Zoidberg, Professor Farnsworth), John DiMaggio (Bender), and Maurice LaMarche (Kiff, Morbo). A small Futurama comic book was passed around, and the cast did a reading of the book with the characters' voices! That was a lot of fun. They also showed a sizzle reel for the new upcoming series. The voice cast also went into great detail about how they developed the character voices for Futurama. John DiMaggio stole the show by adding plenty of color commentary.

Four full-length movies will be released on DVD, and they will also be split up into 16 episodes for later viewing on Comedy Central. The first, Futurama: Bender’s Big Score, will debut on Nov. 27. Bender’s Big Score features the Futurama characters fighting nudist alien Internet scammers in order to save the planet Earth. Notable guest stars include Al Gore, Coolio and Sarah Silverman.

WOHOOO!!! Futurama rules. Even though I am incredibly happy to have new shows coming out, the old ones never got boring. Let's just hope they don't do a Family Guy and make their jokes run too long.
