SDCC 2007: Teen Titans Year One Revealed

DC Comics unveiled the cover to Teen Titans: Year One at San Diego Comic-Con, with art by Karl Kerschl! The image looks fantastic and the series should be a big treat to long-time Titans fans. Both Karl and writer Amy Wolfram are putting a lot into this book and I think people are going to FLIP over this one. Karl and the art team have finished the first three (out of six) issues, and Amy has plotted out all six. I chatted with Amy a bit at the San Diego Comic-Con and she's got some great stuff in store for Year One; It's a perfect blend of the Titans history we know and love, with some never-before-explored elements on the team's early days. You'll see some unique takes on the fab five's interactions with each other and their famous mentors.

Karl also showed another image on
his blog: "This next one is the first drawing I did of the team, just trying to nail down the character designs. Things change as you progress on a book, so the kids all look a little different now, but I still really like this piece. It probably won’t be used for anything, so I’m posting it here." Check out Karl's blog for even more insights on Teen Titans: Year One and his trip to San Diego Comic-Con.

For anyone worried about Speedy being "ret-conned" out of the Teen Titans, you have nothing to fear! Speedy will be part of the Year One team and figures into the mini-series as much as the fab foursome. The mini should be hitting the stands in very early 2008! Can't wait!

You've made some decent points there. I looked on the net for more info about the issue and found most people will go along with your views on this site.
