Thoughts On McKeever's Departure

I'm really bummed at the news.

I've been a fan of Sean's work over at Marvel (SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE and GRAVITY), and I was really excited when he took over TEEN TITANS. Sean really has a knack for writing teenagers. And although I've enjoyed Sean's run, I always felt that something was holding back the full potential of what he could do on the book without editorial interference and mandates.

But Sean leaves some Titans legacy in his wake:
-- He masterfully continued Rose Wilson's story and led her in new directions (helping to make her the breakout character she is today).
-- He continued to develop Eddie Bloomberg.
-- He gave us the future-classic Red Devil/Blue Beetle team.
-- He delved deeper into Miss Martian's backstory.
-- He gave us an intriguing new set of adversaries (not exactly villains!) with the Terror Titans.
-- And let's not forget - he helped redeem Cassie... explaining her erratic behavior and freeing her from Ares' and Zeus' influence.

There were some great moments in his run, wasn't there?
So for all that and more, thanks Sean! You've now a proud part of Titans history.

And hey, still looking forward to seeing what you have in store for Ravager!

I am actually kind of surprised. I just got done reading this issue of "Titans" and for once in that terrible series, i finally felt like someone had found the "Titans" voice. There was very little actually fighting, but it was all about the characters. I wonder if he's simply off "Teen Titans" or if he's no longer going to be writing either of the titles and just the Ravager stuff :-(. I am really actually depressed about this.

Thank God! Maybe there'll be less mindless violence and annoying characterizations now.

"mindless violence and annoying characterizations" -- something that never happened in his Marvel work. Makes one wonder...

Yeah, Bill, it does make me wonder. Did he specify WHY he's leaving? Is he leaving DC, like Dixon and Waid? I agree with Joshua up there, this is pretty depressing. I was really enjoying his run!

He's not leaving DC, at least not at the moment, cuz he's doing the Ravager backup stuff for the immediate future. Wether or not he left the title itself cuz of Didio is another question indeed.
