Deathtrap ending "very, very controversial"


Marv Wolfman reveals on his blog: "The last part of Deathtrap comes out in Vigilante #6, on sale May 20 and I guarantee the ending is going to be very, very controversial. You could have knocked me over with that proverbial feather when DC told me what they had planned. Be prepared for something surprising, controversial and very powerful."

Any guesses?

And, why am I scared?

    Hmmm let me guess....Jericho's dead again?

    Nono, that's too simple. Vigilante kills someone and Jericho is hiding in someone else's head and turning THEM evil.

    I want to cry. I'm tired of friends fighting. I'm tired of controversy. I just want to read good stories and for a while now, this hasn't been the case.

    I hope no one dies though. There's too many dead Titans as is.

    My guess?

    Eddie is killed by Vigilante, who is under the belief that he has Jericho in his head.

    And if that is what happens--as much as I love the Titans--I may just decide to stop picking up the book.

    I'm tired of senseless death being 'shocking'. I'm tired to people retracing the same steps over and over again in this series. I'm tired of characters pointing out how certain tropes have been done over and over.

    I'm just tired.

    I wonder if this "controversial" ending will lead to a new "status quo" for the Titans, that leads up to the next crossover between the Titan books later this year that will set a completely new "status quo".

    Here's an idea for a status quo: Good stories that focus on character development, maybe introducing a new character (or a new character related to someone from their past), and actually building on their foundation at teenage sidekicks instead of constantly revisiting it.

    I'm actually liking the whole Deathtrap thing so far. Here's an out of left field guess. The original Vigilante comes back from the dead and kills the new vigilante.

    This is kinda late, but as seeing it's Marv Wolfman who is writing this, you can count on it being great (as much as he's allowed - stupid DC and their idiotic limitations).
