The Adventure Comics changeover. How did that happen? Was it planned? Will Legion be the stars? Will Levitz continue with Geoff's plans?
Dan DiDio: The change was in the works already before Paul stepped into the mix. And the change started at the moment we decided Francis was going to be the artist on The Flash.
What we're planning to do with The Flash ongoing series, we needed to get Francis and Geoff off the Adventure Comics series so they could concentrate on The Flash ongoing.
So we knew we had a change there. We just weren't sure exactly where and when. And we were going back and forth on which issue it was because Geoff had a really wonderful Superboy story that he wanted to tell that, unfortunately, will have to be pushed to a later date.
But my goal now is to get those guys going on Flash as soon as possible. And then when all the changes started to occur, Paul was our only choice for the series. And to be quite frank with you, before even knowing everything that was taking place, Paul was the person we were thinking about approaching for the series as well, given his association with the Legion, given his association with Adventure Comics, and his love for the title, and his love for those characters. It only made sense for him to be the one to take this and move it to its next incarnation.
Newsarama: There's no doubt that when you think of Paul, you think of Legion of Super-Heroes. But there are Conner Kent fans out there that are wondering - what's going to happen to the Superboy piece of this comic?
DiDio: We're going to see Conner's, probably, gradual leave from that book. But that's not to say Conner won't be joining a team book soon, or appearing in another series of his own at some point.
Lame. and....
Didio: But for George Perez, there's rumors floating around our building that he and Marv are picking up where they left off 20 years ago on the Teen Titans: Games hardcover, original graphic novel. And it sounds like that's something we'd like to see come to completion for a release in 2010.
Nrama: Oh, last time I talked to George about that he had around 50 pages left to draw but didn't know if he'd ever get back to it. It's been a long time coming.
DiDio: It certainly has. But that's why it's still a rumor. We'll believe it when we actually have it in our hands.

So let me see if I have this straight... Adventure Comics, which lets be honest has been a FANTASTIC character developement book for Superboy... will soon have Superboy written out of the book, and most likely thrust back into something like Teen Titans which is made of epic sucking...
WHAT IS WRONG WITH DC?! Why is every EVERY SINGLE TIME something good is happening with a book, they have to IMMEDIATELY ruin it? Lets be frank, Flash has gotten enough attention. Let Geoff and Francis FINISH their story before tossing them over to another one. People waited three or four years for a Batwoman book. we can wait 6 months or something for a Flash book...

Yep, that about hits it perfectly.
I'm very disappointed...Not surprised, but very very disappointed.

I'd have to agree. These days, DC seems to not know when to stop making changes. I've been in the working world long enough to recognize that some changes are made to accommodate some shift in personnel (like what seems to have happened with Paul Levitz). He moved into this Adventure Comics gig from higher up. I'm sure there was some reason for it other than his own volition. Maybe it had something to do with a renewed focus from Warner Bros. on DC's products. But it has to be "spun" a certain way. I could be totally off, but I think there is something going on there that Dan and the muckity-mucks wouldn't want to discuss.
However, the comics biz is so unbelievably geared towards making frequent changes, they are blind to some of the effects of so much shifting around. Why can't they let certain creative teams develop their product a little more?
In regard to Games, I say,
"Bravo!" I realize it's a very different world now than the setting of the Games reported storyline. But given how crazy everything is elsewhere in DC, I would LOVE to see Marv and George finish creating this work, just so I can relish something from a time I completely loved. It would actually be sort of comforting to read and enjoy good work. I wonder if there is any way they can diminish Didio's involvement in it??

I would gag if Didio have any way in connection with the Games. Given time, some how, some way he will cancel it just as it goes into printing. As a last final torture to all the Titans fan.

As to Adventure Comics, if DC are to stupid not to see that SuperBoy + Adventure Comics + Geoff + Francis = a possible bonified hit then DC and Didio should just quit making comic book and just concentrated on Hollywood. Its just a waste of energy putting together a great team of talents and chemistry then yank them all over the place to start something else. Us comic fan will not tolerated this kind of tortured that just ruined our abilities to be loyal to a book if they keep yanking creators around to rescued other failed project.

I just don't understand this move in regards to Conner. The first issue of Adventure was a rousing success. So why change it this soon? If they wanted to accomodate Paul Levitz as a thank you for years of service, why couldn't they just give him a brand new Legion book?
I suppose this means Superboy will be returning to the Teen Titans. But if that is the case, then DC needs to start assigning a much higher profile creative team to TT than the one they've currently got scheduled to take over.
