Eddy Barrows: The Newest Titan

Newsarama reports: As the Teen Titans title started a new chapter in August with Sean McKeever taking over writing duties, the position of artist was still up for grabs. But after a hodgepodge of artists helped out with the title for the last few months, Eddy Barrows is now the title's ongoing artist as it heads into the new year.

NRAMA: Which of the Teen Titans is your favorite?

EB: Kory, Cyborg, Supergirl, and Ravager. They are my favorites, because it's fun to draw them. And they are very different from the other Titans. My favorite recent Titan to draw has to be Ravager. She’s tough, strong-willed and acts based on her instincts.

Eddy's art seems to be getting better and better each issue. I look forward to his run on the book.

Wolfman Talks Raven Mini

WOLFMAN RETURNS TO WRITE RAVEN FOR DC MINISERIES

by Jeffrey Renaud, Staff Writer

The Jack Kirby Award-winning writer told CBR News, "Raven has always been my favorite of the Titans I created. Her origin is the strongest and she fits into the real world whereas the others are definitely more fantasy. She's gone through the biggest journey and there are still endless possibilities for her.

"What was interesting here was picking up a character, who has been changed in the interim," continued Wolfman. "She's in a new body and younger than she was when I wrote her but she's still the same character."

Raven, twice possessed, killed and re-incarnated, currently exists in DCU proper as an 18-year old high school student. That basis is where "DC Special: Raven" picks up. "Essentially, Raven is beginning high school, which in itself is a time of emotional change," explained Wolfman. "I was easily able to accept that Raven is younger because in many ways she never had a life to begin with. According to my and George Perez's issues, she was kept from her mother, kept from emotions, kept from everything but total control over who she was. That means when the Titans began, way back in 1980, she was emotionally an infant even if intellectually and physically she was 18 or older.

Teen Titans Screenwriter Speaks

Wizard Universe Reports: UP CLOSE: ‘TEEN TITANS’ SCREENWRITER MARK VERHEIDEN
He explains how the film will follow the realistic model set by ‘X-Men,’ with the heroes facing a mysterious threat

WIZARD: The best runs on the Teen Titans comic included equal parts action, adventure and teen angst, including romance. Which of these elements are in your script?

VERHEIDEN: All of the above. It’s a story about 18-year-old teenagers trying to figure out what to do with their lives. They’ve been programmed up to this point as adjuncts to adult heroes and now that they’re 18 and becoming adults themselves, what are they going to do next? That includes how they go about doing the noble tasks they feel destined to do like fight crime and fight bad guys and then the other part is, what about the rest of their lives? What about their social lives? What about how they fit into society?

Can you give us a hint as to what kind of a threat the Titans will be facing in the movie?

VERHEIDEN: I think I’ll keep that to myself for now. It is a very powerful threat and it will present situations I don’t think we’ve seen before, which is always fun to try and come up with. And it will be on a fairly massive scale. Comic book fans will not be unfamiliar with it. [Laughs]

Wizard's Teen Titans Casting

I've already done my Teen Titans Casting Call... and now Wizard gives it a shot! Overall, their choices are not bad at all. Interesting Deatshtroke choice... I can see that. And it looks like we agree on Terra. I'm not feeling their Donna Troy choice, so I'd be interested to see what people think...

CASTING CALL: ‘TEEN TITANS’
From teen stars to Terminators, check out this dream cast for a ‘Titans’ movie

Everyone’s so excited that a “Justice League” film is coming, it almost escapes notice that Warner Bros. recently greenlit what could potentially be the best DC Comics film yet—“Teen Titans.” While Justice League’s all about killer fights and mind-blowing effects, we’d want a “Titans” film to capture the relationships and character moments that make the book a classic. Here’s who we would pick for a film pitting the old guard (led by Nightwing) and the new class (led by Robin) against Deathstroke the Terminator…and the traitor he’s planted in their midst.

We've all been waiting anxiously to see how Speedy is gonna look in the upcoming TEEN TITANS: YEAR ONE mini series.... and now Karl Kerschl has posted the first look at Roy Harper on teh cover of TEEN TITANS: YEAR ONE #3! Karl reveals: "The title says it all! The issue 3 cover of Teen Titans: Year One, with colours by Stephane Peru. (Virtual) Nightwing on The Batman

At the San Diego Comic-Con, the crew on THE BATMAN hinted at Nightwing's return in season five: "The biggest news for Titans fans is that Jerry O'Connell returns in season five as Nightwing. Not wanting to spoil the episode, the crew would only divulge that the episode does NOT take place in the future."

A preview of the episode, "The Metal Face Of Comedy", offers some hints on Nightwing's (virtual) appearance. Looks like the disco collar is back! Here's how the network describes the episode: "Through an unusual accident -- Joker's personality is downloaded into a nanite entity, and the digitized Joker is even more threatening than the original."

"The Metal Face of Comedy" airs this Saturday!

Nightwing has already made an appearance in season four's "Artifacts". See some screen caps here!
