Robin Voice Actor Correction

When news broke of Robin appearing in the fourth season of The Batman, here's what information was gleaned: "The World's Finest over at ToonZone have once again provided an exclusive first look at upcoming character designs for the fourth season of the WB Series THE BATMAN. Only this time, the character they've featured is... Robin! But that's not all-- Comics Continuum also provided two images of the new character, as well as a few snippets of information from their interview with supervising producer Duane Capizzi. It seems clear that the design is an amalgamation of the styles from both TEEN TITANS and THE NEW BATMAN ADVENTURES. Scott Menville will be providing the voice, so fans of the TEEN TITANS animated series can apparently rest easy knowing that at least one part of the show will live on!"

Unfortunately, titanstower.com has learned this information is in error. A source close to production of the series has informed me that Scott was never slated as the voice of Robin. So who is the voice of Robin? No final word yet, but we'll keep ya posted.

Marv Wolfman on Raven & More

In his regular "DC Nation," column in the back of DC's monthly DCU titles, DCU Executive Editor Dan DiDio recently announced that Marv Wolfman would be writing a new Raven mini-series, so Newsarama took this opportunity to catch up with Marv and ask him about Raven, the Titans and his other projects.

Marv on Raven's mini: "Emotionally, it's about a young girl who has found herself reborn in a new body and is trying to figure out her place in life. Story wise it picks up on the bit in the recent Titans Annual that I came up with that shows Raven getting an unexplained influx of emotions and what they do to her. It also asks where they come from and how it will affect her and everyone else in San Francisco. It deals with her new life in school and establishes the new parameters for her character. And it takes an old DC villain and completely changes him."

Perez on GAMES, Donna's Wedding and more

Newsarama caught up with Perez at this past weekend's Motor City Con to find out the latest news on his Legion hopes, the Games graphic novel, and what he's doing for Justice League of America #0.

On Justice League #0: "Well, I just did a page of Justice League of America #0. I got to recreate the wedding of Donna Troy again! [...] That was the only page I drew. It was specifically for me because of the Donna Troy aspect. So it was kind of nice drawing the wedding gown again, which my wife designed. I can draw it a little better now. And there was just a slight tweak as to the occurrences at the wedding that doesn't at all contradict what went on in the original."

Looks like maybe Diana was Donna's maid of honor after all.

On the Titans Graphic Novel, GAMES: "There are still 50-something pages to be drawn. It's an enormous story. And as much as it's something I want to do, it's on indefinite hold. And I know they hate me saying it -- and Marv hates it even worse -- but I can't see it ever getting finished. With all the work that I'm being given by DC, there's no way I can fit the Titans graphic novel into my schedule. So it's on indefinite hold, and I can't see a day when that's ever going to be removed. [...] Where are they going to schedule it on my schedule if I'm going to be doing monthly titles and filling up whatever free time I have on other projects? I think it's flattering -- the book was a go when I wasn't exclusive. Once I was exclusive, they want me to do so many things. When I wasn't exclusive, they thought the Titans graphic novel was the only thing they could get from me for awhile. Signing the exclusivity seems have to killed the Titans graphic novel."

Titans East Member Revealed [Sort of]

The May 15th edition of LYING IN THE GUTTERS revealed the following rumor: "Risk and Argent are both members of "Teen Titans East." However, the book, reported by Dan DiDio and written by Geoff Johns has yet to be internally scheduled."

Looks like Rich was half right! Geoff Johns corrected this rumor on his own site: "Information is wrong. Sorry, gang. One of the listed is on the team but it's an arc, not a book."

American Idol: Infinite Chris-is

American Idol shocker: Chris Daughtry - the most talented contestant - has been voted off in an amazing voting upset. I'm still in utter shock. Chris was one of the most talented singers in the history of the show; His voice was made for recording.

I suppose he will get a record deal anyway. I predict it will be another Ruben-Clay situation and Chris will outshine whoever actually wins the Idol title.

Can Superboy Prime give another reality-altering punch and oust Taylor instead?

Marv Wolfman on Raven's Mini-Series

Marv Wolfman recently posted an update on his recently-announced Raven mini-series on his site: "I've seen some comments on the net about the mini with some relieved that I'll bring Raven back to the way she was in the 80s while others live in fear that I'll bring Raven back to the way she was in the 80s. Some want me to jettison everything done with the character while others want me not to change anything that's been done to her. So here's what I will say; before I began I had a lunch with current Titans writer Geoff Johns and we discussed what he was going to do with Raven and what I could do. Some things that I proposed he'll set up in the Titans, while some things he wants I'll do in the mini. Otherwise, I was pretty much allowed to play with the story the way I wanted and Geoff encouraged me to make changes, some big, some small, which will then become Raven's status quo in the Titans comic."

Marv adds, "All that said, I try to approach all my stories through the characters first. The story has to have an impact on the people inhabiting them. It's why I rarely write 100% plot-driven stories where the hero has to simply stop some crime he or she doesn't care about. This Raven story comes directly out of her basic concept and can only work with that one character; it's not interchangeable."

That's just part of Marv's post; Be sure to visit his site for the full report!

Teen Titans East and Raven Mini Series

Dan Didio revealed some future Titans plans in his DC NATION column this week: "So when are things going to slow down? Beats me. Maybe I should ask the INFINITE CRISIS team. I'd ask editor Eddie Berganza, but he's busy working on the new JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA with best-selling novelist Brad Meltzer and developing a new RAVEN mini-series with the character's co-creator, Marv Wolfman. I would have been better off with Geoff Johns if he wasn't chained to his computer preparing TEEN TITANS EAST and a relaunch of JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA. Phil Jimenez, George Perez - nope, no help there, already working on their next projects."

So there you have it... TEEN TITANS EAST by Geoff Johns! RAVEN by Marv Wolfman! Coming... sometime....
